Chis Kirk – homeowner
A three-bedroomed semi-detached family home at Cargenbridge, Dumfries, is showing the benefits of the award-winning Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump.
“The benefits for the whole family have been great,” says Chris Kirk. “The bedrooms are warm, there’s a nice steady temperature all night and plenty of hot running water. Our electricity bill was around £200 a month, so we are hoping to see dramatic changes there. It’s only been in for six weeks, so it’s hard to tell what the cost savings will be, but I’m fairly confident they will be substantial”.
Amy Swayne-Shaw - homeowner
Instead of choosing a straight boiler replacement for her three bedroom semi-detached house in Gillingham, in Dorset, Amy decided to opt for a renewable heating solution: the new Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump system.
Amy is very happy with her new hybrid heating system and explained that she “wanted a cheaper, greener supply of energy and a more constant, comfortable temperature for her children. It also helps to counter the effects of future energy price increases.”
Keith Arkwright - homeowner
Keith Arkwright, who lives in Yate, near Bristol, has chosen a Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump solution to provide his family with a warm, comfortable home and to save him money on his energy bills.
Energy bills for the three bedroom semi-detached house had increased substantially since a conservatory, extra shower rooms and a hot tub had been added, despite solar PV panels being installed to offset the running costs of the hot tub and to help offset its carbon emissions.
Keith says he now has the best of both worlds. “We have a highly efficient gas boiler for when it is very cold outside and an air-to-water heat pump, plus the system can also be used to provide hot water. For the first time I am now in credit with my energy supplier after the winter. Normally I am in debt and having to play catch up by spring.”
