Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands acquires Service & Maintenance Company
Capelle a/d IJssel, March 19, 2012 --- Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands, a 100% subsidiary of Daikin Europe N.V., headquartered in Oostende/Brussels, Belgium announced an agreement with the principal shareholders to acquire 100% of the shares of ServiceNed, with its office in Lelystad. ServiceNed’s core activity is the service and maintenance of chillers and applied cooling equipment in the Dutch market, amongst others specialising in data-room applications.
1. Purpose of the Acquisition
Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands B.V. was successfully founded in 2007, however Daikin as a brand has been present much longer. Daikin started to sell heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment to the Dutch market since 1967 and has done so ever since.
Daikin, well known for its high quality heating, ventilation and air conditioning products, acquired McQuay back in 2006. Since then, Daikin has been supplying larger cold-water applications (chillers) to the Dutch market. In this market segment manufacturers are expected to execute on-site services, such as commissioning and warranty repairs. In order to do so, Daikin has now acquired ServiceNed and is currently able to offer a wide range of on-site supporting activities, such as commissioning, on-site training, trouble shooting, repairs and service & maintenance.
ServiceNed will continue to operate as an independent entity for the foreseeable future. ServiceNed will allow the Daikin organisation to offer even better on-site support in the nearby future. 2. ServiceNed
ServiceNed is specialised in the service and maintenance of (comfort) cooling equipment, specialised in the cold-water (chillers) and data room applications. The company, founded in 2004, successfully established itself as the largest independent service company within the Dutch applied service market.
Currently, the company employs 11 people and has an office in Lelystad, but provides on-site services throughout the whole country.
3. Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands B.V.
Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands B.V. was founded in 2007 and currently has offices in Capelle a/d IJssel (Rotterdam), Amsterdam and Apeldoorn. Daikin equipment however is already being sold to the Netherlands from the late 1960s, previously by a distributor. Daikin Air Conditioning Netherlands B.V. is a 100% daughter company of Daikin Europe N.V..
Daikin Europe N.V. is the sales and manufacturing headquarter responsible for sales in Europe, some parts of Africa and the Middle East (EMEA). A comprehensive range of air conditioning and refrigeration products and systems for commercial, residential and industrial applications is produced and supplied from the Ostend plant, supported by the Czech factories. Core products include split air conditioners & heat pumps, light commercial units, air and water cooled chillers, VRV systems, packaged units, ‘Daikin Altherma’ heat-pump based heating systems, plus air purifiers and a complete suite of user friendly computerised air conditioning management and monitoring control systems. All of these systems ensure that maximum energy efficiency is achieved throughout the operational life of the product – a philosophy central to Daikin Europe and one that is underpinned by continuous research.
Daikin Netherlands B.V., market leader in the Dutch air conditioning market, currently employs 54 people.
