Office Design Major’s Headquarters Features VRV Heat Recovery Technology

Leading office design and build players, Paramount Office Interiors Ltd, moved into their new state of the art headquarters and showroom in St Mellons, Cardiff, towards the end of last year. Designed by the company’s own in house design teams, the 14,000ft2 facility features cutting edge design solutions, VRV heat recovery air conditioning plus ultra stylish furniture and lighting – a one stop solution in fact, encompassing design, construction and equipment supply for the discerning sector of the commercial office market.
The new complex, comprising open plan and cellular office accommodation complete with hot desking and bench configuration, gymnasium, café and showroom is supplied with conditioned air via VRV heat recovery systems design and installed by Daikin D1 installers, Temperature Control Ltd, Cardiff.
A combination of 26 Daikin ceiling concealed, ceiling suspended, 4 way blow ceiling cassettes and floor mounted cased VRV indoor fan coil units with cooling capacities between 2.2kW and 9.0kW and heating capacities between 2.5kW and 10.0kW serve the various open plan, cellular office and dedicated areas. A dedicated wall mounted split handles the communications room requirements. All VRV indoor fan coil units are linked to two off 30hp VRV heat recovery outdoor condensing units located in a ground level compound at the rear of the building.
Internal design temperatures are maintained at 23°C summer and 21°C winter. Overall cooling and heating loads are 153kW and 104kW respectively. Fresh air requirements are supplied via a recouperator unit in the plant room.
The air conditioning systems are monitored and controlled overall by a Daikin I-controller, linked to individual remote room temperature controllers throughout the building.
VRV heat recovery air conditioning was chosen in line with Temperature Control’s brief to design and install a system commensurate with the client’s requirement for a showpiece installation of all that is modern, stylish and environmentally conscious in office interior design and equipment. _tcm46-84798.jpg "Paramount Office Interiors(2).")
