The move towards heat pumps

Our net zero commitment

The UK aims to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. To achieve this, we need to focus on sustainability and switch to low-carbon energy sources like electric vehicles and heat pumps. In order to meet the UK’s net zero targets, 80% of homeowners will need to switch over to heat pump technology by 2035.

New financial incentives

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme recently had a major boost. It now provides UK homeowners with a financial incentive of £7,500 to switch to a lower-carbon heating system. And the latest ECO+ scheme will provide new insulation to hundreds of thousands of homes. This increased funding makes the switch to renewable energy more attractive than ever.

Now is the time to make sure you are fully trained and ready for the switch.

Introducing heat pumps

What are heat pumps?

Heat pumps offer a highly efficient, low-carbon alternative to the traditional boiler. The eco-friendly technology works completely differently from a standard heater; instead of generating heat, a heat pump simply moves it around.

How do they work?

Heat pumps operate in a similar way to a fridge, which extracts heat from inside and transfers it outside. To provide home heating, this process is reversed. An air source heat pump will extract heat from the air outside the home before transferring it into a hot water or heating system.

The sustainable solution

There are a few different types of heat pump. But they all have one thing in common: they're powered mainly by renewable energy, making them one of the most sustainable heating solutions available today. In fact, our latest figures show that having a heat pump installed does more to reduce your carbon footprint than giving up a car.

The economic solution

Heat pumps use less power to run than standard heating systems. Heat pump systems can be three or four times more efficient than an electric heater. And swapping from a fossil fuel boiler to an air source heat pump could save an average household over £250 per year in energy costs.

How can Daikin help?

UK homeowners are making changes to the way they live. They're changing everything from the cars they drive, how they shop and the energy they use. And, with an added push from the latest government incentives, they're switching to heat pumps as the eco-friendly way to heat their homes.

Industry accreditations

Daikin is committed to ensuring you have all the vital accreditations you need to progress your business. That's why we're offering special discounts on the following certifications.

MCS accreditation

The MCS quality assurance scheme demonstrates a commitment to quality workmanship and customer care. Being MCS certified gives your customers the assurance that you will install their heating systems to the industry-expected level of quality.

It is also important to note that you will need to be MCS certified to offer the Boiler Upgrade Scheme to your customers. Only MCS-certified installers are eligible to create an account and apply for BUS vouchers. You will also be able to offer other financial incentives, including Home Energy Scotland.

Easy MCS is the UK's most recommended MCS Certification support provider for installers of heat pumps and other microgeneration systems.

The switch to heat pump technology is a crucial step towards creating a better future for our planet.
