Find out what an installation involves, step by step

Find a suitable installer in your area.
Installing a heat pump is not a do-it-yourself project. A heat pump must be correctly specified, installed and setup to ensure that it is an economical and efficient alternative to a traditional fossil fuel heat source. Installation should therefore be done by a skilled installer who is trained in heat pump system design, installation and commissioning - and who has the relevant Gas Safe and F-Gas certification. Daikin has an extensive network of KEY heating partners who specialise in the installation of Daikin domestic heating products. Find an installer close to you.
Agree the right solution for your home and heat requirements.
Your installer can help to guide you on exactly the right solution for your home. Have you already done the heat pump check yourself? Then take the results into account during the meeting with your installer. They can inform you further about your options and advise you on the right solution for your home heating requirements, and will prepare a system design and customised quotation, taking into account your budget.
Schedule the installation date
Your installer will do everything for you, from ordering the heat pump and accessories to organising delivery, ready for your agreed installation start date. All you need to do is put the kettle on! The heat pump is then installed and connected to your heating system, such as radiators and underfloor heating. The good news is that (unlike with a ground source heat pump) no special ground work is required, so an air source heat pump can be installed easily, with little disruption.
The right settings for maximum efficiency
Setting up and programming your system is performed by the installer, but the heat pump manufacturer may also offer a visit from their own service engineer to check the programming of the system and adjust the settings for optimum efficiency. If you buy a Daikin system, you will also receive a warranty pack providing details of your parts and labour warranty, and a code so that you can register your warranty online (if your installer hasn’t already done so) on Stand By Me, our customer aftercare website,. Your warranty should be registered within 30 days and no later than 1 year after commissioning. You can also select from a range of Maintenance Packages on Stand By Me, to make sure your system is regularly maintained and your warranty remains valid. This way you are always ready to enjoy sustainable heat in your home!
