Daikin becomes first HVAC manufacturer to offer City and Guilds Assured heat pump training

In a global first, Daikin, the international leader in heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions, has partnered with City & Guilds to achieve ‘Assured’ status for its Daikin Altherma heat pump training package, making it the only HVAC manufacturer to offer training courses accredited by this prestigious organisation.
The landmark partnership delivers world-class, independently assessed training for heating engineers across the UK, supporting professionalism and building confidence in the growing heat pump market.
Upon successful completion of the Altherma Heat Pump training package, engineers will be able to proudly call themselves a Daikin Altherma Heat Pump Technician – a credential that sets them apart in an increasingly competitive marketplace and gives their customers confidence that they have undertaken high-quality, well-respected professional training.
City & Guilds Assured is a global quality standard, built on almost 150 years of experience in skills development. The rigorous accreditation process evaluates eight areas of internally developed training, assessing how organisations plan, design, maintain and evaluate their learning programmes against world-class quality standards. For Daikin, this meant undergoing a comprehensive series of reviews, with the manufacturer receiving consistently positive feedback throughout the process.

The Daikin Altherma Heat Pump training package consists of three courses totalling four days of learning. Courses can be completed consecutively or spread over time; there is no set timeframe to complete them, and once achieved, the qualification does not expire. The three courses are:
- Daikin Altherma Monobloc Installation
- Daikin Altherma Commissioning and Advanced Installation
- Fault Finding and Diagnostics
Upon completion, engineers receive a certificate bearing the City & Guilds Assured logo and are permitted to use the digital credential in their own marketing materials – providing a tangible, market-differentiating signifier in a busy and growing sector.
