About the ECO4 Scheme
ECO4 is the fourth iteration of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme; a well-established government policy that has already contributed to making British homes warmer and reducing their carbon emissions.Ā
ECO4 has been operational since 2022 and will continue until 2026, during which time the government has committed to investing £4 billion in energy-efficiency and heating measures to achieve the net-zero carbon goal.
The net-zero goal will be achieved by:
- improving the fabric insulation of the dwelling
- installing new low-carbon heating systems
- installing rooftop solar PV where possible
ECO4 has been designed to reduce carbon emissions and combat fuel poverty among low-income and vulnerable households. All domestic premises, including private and social housing, are eligible for the scheme.
Achieving High SAP Band B
When Daikin hybrid heat pump or Daikin monobloc heat pump is installed along with fabric and roof top solar PV, this combination of measures not only meet the minimum requirements (MR) for majority of archetypes but also will give the installers to achieve āHigh SAP Band Bā. This will gain the maximum possible grant under ECO4. No additional money is given above High SAP Band B under the ECO4 scheme.
