Daikin Apprenticeships: Training for a greener future
By investing in young people through our apprenticeship programmes, we’re helping the next generation gain the skills to lead the charge toward a low-carbon future.

As National Apprenticeship Week shines a spotlight on the importance of apprenticeships, Daikin is taking the lead in tackling the UK’s shortage of green skills.
Bridging the green skills gap
The UK is facing a critical shortage of green skills, particularly in areas like low-carbon heating and sustainable engineering. With ambitious climate goals on the horizon, the need for skilled professionals in these sectors has never been greater.
That’s why Daikin is stepping up to meet this challenge by providing specialised training programmes that empower our young people to contribute to a greener future.
Engineer Apprenticeship Programme
One of Daikin’s flagship initiatives is its Engineer Apprenticeship Programme, which takes on five candidates each year. This exciting programme is designed to provide hands-on experience and industry-leading training in sustainable heating technologies. Apprentices spend three years learning onsite from experienced engineers, developing advanced technical skills and gaining valuable industry insights.
Each year, this programme empowers a new cohort of apprentices to take on real-world responsibilities while benefitting from the mentorship of Daikin’s experienced team. Graduates of the programme often go on to take key roles within the company - a real testament to the programme’s success.
Low Carbon Heating Technician Apprenticeship Programme
Another exciting initiative is the 2025 Low Carbon Heating Technician Apprenticeship Programme, developed in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).
This trailblazing course is rolling out for the first time this year, with participants becoming among the first in the UK to achieve this qualification. Open to applicants from the Greater Manchester region, the programme aims to cultivate the next generation of skilled professionals who will lead the way in sustainable heating solutions.

Daikin’s apprenticeship programmes have already paved the way for numerous success stories.
