Choosing a new heating system
Find the best heating system for your home: know the options when replacing your heating system

If you're replacing an existing heating system or considering a new one, you may be thinking about moving away from fossil fuel systems and towards something less affected by rising energy prices and with a lower impact on the environment.
Heating system options
Every home has different needs. Choosing the right heating system depends on the sort of home you live in, your budget and your lifestyle. There are many alternatives, depending on what you're looking for.
Let’s consider the options that have a low environmental impact.
Air-to-water and ground-source heat pumps
Heat pumps come in various types - air-to-water, high-, mid-, or low temperature, or ground source. They use up to 75% renewable energy from the air or the ground and connect to emitters for heating, cooling and hot water. Heat pumps offer a complete home solution, with different types to match any need. For example, high-temperature air-to-water heat pumps are good for older homes that use radiators.
Hybrid heat pumps
Hybrid heat pumps combine existing gas or oil boilers with heat pump technology, switching automatically between the two to provide the most efficient performance.
They can be combined with various emitters to provide heating, cooling and hot water. They're a great option for boiler replacements and a cheaper alternative to other heat pumps.
Air-to-air heat pumps
Air-to-air heat pumps, also known as air conditioners, offer an efficient heating, cooling and air purification solution. Easy to install and cost-effective, they can be installed in any kind of home, old or new, detached, terraced or apartment.
They also offer several options, with single or multi-split solutions so you can connect up to five indoor units with one outdoor unit. There's even an option to connect to a domestic hot water tank.
