Starting a new building project but unsure which heat pump to choose? Lise and her partner faced the same choice. By integrating a Daikin air-to-water heat pump, solar panels, and smart home automation, they created a home that’s both eco-friendly and exceptionally comfortable. Discover how they made their choice and the benefits they enjoy every day.
Completed in 2023, Lise's modern 180 m² home features three bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a large bathtub and walk-in shower. While she and her partner live there now, the home was designed with a growing family in mind.
Air-water heat pump vs. geothermal heat pump
Lise and her partner considered two options for heating their detached new-build home: a Daikin air-to-water heat pump or a geothermal heat pump. They ultimately chose the air-to-water system due to its high efficiency and practicality. A geothermal heat pump would have required a much larger tank, which didn’t fit their setup.
Daikin Altherma for maximum comfort
The Daikin Altherma 3R indoor unit includes a built-in 230-litre hot water tank - plenty for a family’s daily needs. The 6 kW outdoor unit efficiently heats the home while remaining discreetly placed against the rear facade. Once surrounded by greenery, it will seamlessly blend into the landscape.
With the Onecta app, Lise can easily control the heat pump, adjusting settings for maximum comfort. Combined with underfloor heating, the system ensures a cozy and energy-efficient home.
