Work with Hive expands to cover a third of UK heat pump market with Daikin partnership

Eco-tech company Hive has announced a new partnership with Daikin through its Works With Hive programme, significantly expanding smart control compatibility with air source heat pumps and strengthening support for the UK’s growing low-carbon heating market. 

Daikin is one of the UK’s leading heat pump manufacturers and a major supplier of low-carbon heating systems across homes and buildings. 

With the addition of Daikin Works With Hive now connects to approximately 33%ⁱ of the UK air source heat pump (ASHP) market, giving more households access to seamless, smart control of low-carbon heating systems. This coverage reflects Hive’s compatibility with leading air source heat pump manufacturers within the Works With Hive programme. 

The announcement builds on the successful trial previously launched between Hive and Daikin to integrate air source heat pumps with Hive’s home energy management technology. Through the Works With Hive programme, this collaboration now moves into a broader, long-term partnership – giving more customers access to integrated heating controls designed to optimise comfort, efficiency and cost savings.

Driving Interoperability in Low-carbon Heating 

Works With Hive is designed to bring together leading heating and smart technology brands to ensure their devices connect simply and seamlessly to the Hive app. By partnering with Daikin, one of the UK’s leading heat pump manufacturers, Hive is making it easier for installers and homeowners to connect air source heat pumps to intelligent controls that can help maximise system efficiency and reduce energy consumption.  

As heat pump adoption continues to grow across the UK, interoperability between manufacturers and smart home platforms will play a critical role in supporting the transition to low-carbon heating. The partnership gives customers greater choice and confidence when selecting a heat pump that is compatible with Hive’s smart ecosystem. 

Daikin heat pumps are designed to operate efficiently in a wide range of UK homes and integrating them with intelligent control platforms helps homeowners get the best performance from their system. 

Supporting installers and customers 

For installers, the expanded Works With Hive programme provides clarity and reassurance around compatibility with leading ASHP brands. For homeowners, it means a simpler and more connected experience — with the ability to monitor and manage their heating and bills through the Hive app and access bespoke tariffs for their eco-tech, including Heat Power, which offers half-price electricity every day.ii. 

Daikin joins a growing group of eco-tech innovators — including EO, Fox ESS, GivEnergy, myenergi, Samsung and Sunsynk. This latest milestone underlines Hive’s commitment to innovation and collaboration across the heating sector, supporting the UK’s journey towards net zero by creating a home energy system that is simpler to use. 

Works With Hive remains on track to support 80% of net-zero home technology devices by the end of 2026 with more partnerships underway across the full spectrum of eco-tech devices including EV, solar and battery systems. Throughout the year Hive will continue to add trusted eco-tech brands and simplify integration for manufacturers and customers alike.
