Why it’s important for your home appliances to be quiet
A guide to reducing noise levels in the home environment
We’re all spending more and more time at home, whether we’re working from the home office or staying in for an evening. So it’s more important than ever that we create a calm and quiet living environment.
The negative effects of noise
Excess noise isn’t just annoying; it can be harmful. It has been linked to a range of health problems, from stress to heart issues. In fact, the World Health Organisation has identified that environmental noise pollution significantly affects mental and physical health. It is now second only to air pollution as the world’s largest killer pollutant.
Turn down the noise at home
It’s a noisy world out there, so it’s no surprise that we seek some respite when we get home. But most of us would like our homes to be even quieter. With increasing levels of technology in the home environment, our quiet places are no longer as peaceful as we’d wish.
Research* reveals that over four-fifths of Brits would like to make appliances in their home quieter, in that endless search for the sound of silence. And we’re seeking out appliances that are designed to help with the issue. 70% of consumers are more likely to buy an appliance labelled as ‘quiet’, over a similar performance product that does not reference the noise level.
Creating the perfect indoor environment
Daikin provides total climate solutions to create comfortable and sustainable indoor environments. We lead the way in reducing environmental impact, and minimising sound levels is a key focus of our technological development. That’s why we’ve partnered with Quiet Mark to ensure we’re making the quietest products available on the market. What is Quiet Mark?
Quiet Mark – in association with the Noise Abatement Society - is a global programme that identifies and certifies the quietest products so people can experience a quieter life and enjoy more calm in the home. They test domestic home appliances – from hair dryers to air purifiers to heat pumps – to ensure they're not too noisy.
A domestic product with the Quiet Mark certification means it has been tested for noise levels and is considered among the quieter options available in its product category.
Near-silent air purifiers
Daikin’s range of air purifiers are all Quiet Mark certified. They offer whisper-quiet filtration for spaces of up to 41m2 – delivering cleaner, healthier air and the ultimate in acoustic comfort. The perfect fit for living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens, our air purifiers have been designed for near-silent but powerful cleaning capability – all in a compact unit.
Whisper-quiet heat pumps
Heat pumps may have a reputation for being noisy, but they are actually much quieter than people think. Thanks to the latest design developments, the Daikin Altherma 3 H HT is the pinnacle of acoustic comfort and heating performance.
Quiet Mark certified, it has been designed for lower acoustic levels to meet the needs of urban areas and homeowner expectations. It operates at whisper-quiet levels for maximum acoustic comfort. Plus, the system offers enhanced flexibility by offering a low sound mode.
By reducing noise levels at home, you’ll boost your health and well-being. Reduced noise levels can decrease stress, improve sleep quality, and promote overall better health. And if you’re working remotely, you’ll be more productive too. A quieter environment can boost concentration and efficiency, especially for those working or studying at home. Opt for quiet home appliances and create a calmer, more peaceful space at home.
