Cooling that keeps up with a UK summer

Multi+ cools up to four rooms and keeps working in outdoor temperatures as high as 46°C, so it doesn't struggle on the days you need it most.

Each room is set separately, so the bedrooms can run cooler than the rest of the house overnight. And because the tank heats to a schedule you choose, the system is ready to switch to cooling the moment you turn an indoor unit on.

Hot water is the difference

This is what separates Multi+ from ordinary air conditioning. A matched tank sits alongside the system and heats mainly from the outdoor unit rather than electricity alone.

Set the tank to heat overnight and you can cool the bedrooms in the evening and still have a hot shower in the morning. The system works to your schedule, not the other way round, and if you need more hot water than usual, one press of POWERFUL tops it up. Choose a 120 litre wall-hung tank or a 230 litre floor-standing tank.

Comfort in every season

When the weather turns, the same units that cooled your rooms warm them instead. There's no second system to install and nothing to switch over. The same kit handles both.

So the money you spend goes on something that works for you in every season, not just the fortnight the heatwave lasts. There's warmth in the outside air even when it's cold, so the system carries on heating down to -15°C.

That counts for a lot in flats and terraced homes, where the outdoor unit often sits near a window or a neighbouring property. Specially shaped fan blades cut sound emissions and lower power consumption at the same time, and the fan itself sits behind a discreet front grille.

0% VAT until March 2027

The government has removed VAT on air source heat pumps and air conditioning units until 31 March 2027, which could save you hundreds of pounds on the cost of installing your Daikin system. From 1 April 2027, a reduced rate of 5% applies. Your installer is responsible for charging the correct rate of VAT.

A matched tank connects to the same outdoor unit that runs your indoor units, so one system covers all three jobs instead of two. For most homes that means no separate boiler and no immersion heater.

Yes, in suitable homes. Multi+ covers heating and hot water, so it takes the place of a gas boiler, oil boiler or electric immersion heater. It runs up to four indoor units, so your installer will confirm whether that covers every room you want heated, and where the tank can go. The 230 litre version stands on the floor and the 120 litre version hangs on the wall.

Every installation is different, so there's no single price. Cost depends on which outdoor unit and tank your home needs, how many indoor units you want, and how straightforward the pipework is. A Daikin installer will survey your property and quote for it.

A heat pump moves heat rather than burning fuel, so it delivers more energy than it consumes. What that means for your bills depends on your electricity tariff, what you're replacing and how you use the system. VAT on domestic electricity is also being reduced to 0% from 1 October 2026. Heating water to a schedule, usually overnight, and only conditioning the rooms you're in both help. Your installer can model this against your current setup.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme now includes air-to-air heat pumps, with a grant of £2,500. The certification and approval process that sits behind it is still being finalised, so availability is developing. Your installer will know where things stand for your installation and whether your property would qualify.

Often not. Air source heat pumps, including air-to-air systems, fall under permitted development in England, and the rules were relaxed in 2025 to bring cooling systems within scope. Different conditions apply to flats, including a limit on how many units a building can have, and separate rules apply in listed buildings and conservation areas.
